Is It Coffee Time?

Every day we are here making some of the best expresso you can find in the country.  Why not stop in and see what makes the coffee we use that much better? See why we don’t burry out shots in sugar and artificial flavors.  We believe you will be surprised as to how good a coffee can be.

On a daily basis a person might spend more than 4 dollars for a coffee drink. Why not stop in here at the Wine Thief and spend the same 4 dollars and take a few extra minutes to enjoy a great cup of coffee.  Many of the coffees we use are direct trade products.  If you don’t think that is a big deal take some time to see how it benefits all those farmers in developing countries.

Make sure to come and give us a try and taste the difference in a Stumptown coffee.

Friday 10/24/14 -Bordeaux Wines

This Friday will be a special night at the Thief.  We have been waiting to pull the trigger on some great Bordeaux wines…the trigger has been pulled.
We have brought in five great Bordeaux wines 3 reds (2nd & 5th Growth), a 96 point beauty from the Right Bank (Cabernet forward), a 1er Cru Sauternes (97 point dessert wine) and a beautiful White Bordeaux.
Just a little history…back in 1855 is when the Classifications went into place for these wine.  There are only 61 wineries inside the 5 tiers of classification.  Where the Chateaus falls in the classifications is based on quality and price.  There is much more to this but at least you will be able to see some of the wines we are offering are of the best quality and very difficult to source.  Remember these wineries have been in these classifications since 1855 and there has been only 1 change ever.
So as you might expect these wines are not cheap and will cost you well over a $100.00 in most cases for the quality and ability to age in the cellar.  But at least this will be a fun night of sipping wines that are considered world class and have been considered that for well over 150 years.
Here the list of wines we will be tasting.
2011 Ch Leoville Poyferre St. Julien AC 2nd Growth 750ml 94pts
2008 Ch Grand Puy Lacoste Pauillac AC 5th Growth 750ml 91pts
2011 Ch Clinet Pomerol AC 750ml 95pts
2011 Ch Coutet Sauternes AC 1st Growth 1er Cru 750ml 94-96pts 97pts 93-94pts
Opalie de Chateau Coutet Blanc (White Bordeaux)
This will be a great night for the wine lover in you to stop by for some great wine along with some great food.

Stumptown Coffee now at The Wine Thief & Eatery

A few months back we were in Seattle and we happened to stop by a little place called Stumptown Coffee Roasters and since then our coffee world has not been the same…we were hooked. So after a few months of talking and working with Stumptown, we are proud to announce that you can now get one of the best coffees around right here in Wenatchee.

If you are not familiar with the Stumptown story I suggest that you take a look at how they began and were they are now. Stumptown has become one of if not the best small coffee roaster here in the beautiful Norhtwest.

We are not your typical drive up coffee stand as a matter of fact we don’t even have a drive up window.  You actually have to get out of the car and come inside to enjoy this remarkable coffee but it’s worth the effort. As with everything we do coming into the Wine Thief & Eatery is half the fun.  If you are concerned about parking here on Wenatchee Ave. don’t be, you can park right in front of our store in the morning hours.

Here is what you might expect when you come in for your morning, afternoon or anytime coffee.  We only have a couple of flavor options, but we make them right here in our very small kitchen.  We also have a small selection of pastries that are also made here.  Our coffee bar is what we would expect to see if we were in Europe comfortable, friendly and fun.

So if your going to grab your morning coffee why not take the extra time and stop in and taste the difference freshly roasted coffee that is prepared right tastes like.

We open at 7am Monday – Friday & Saturday 8am.image
